The day ahead

All eyes will be on the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook which Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is expected to deliver later this week.

October budget estimates were for a fiscal deficit of $214bn for the federal government in the 2020-2021 financial year. These are likely to be updated in the light of recent stronger growth for the Australian economy.
