Hillgrove is developing the Kanmantoo underground copper gold mine in South Australia.  The project is near term and requires very low capital of only $26m owing to a combination of the existing infrastructure, which includes a 3.6Mtpa process plant and tailings storage facility, and the close proximity of the mineralisation from the portal which has already commenced.  The underground is permitted and enjoys excellent support from the nearby community.

  • Derek Carter, Chairman

    Derek has over 40 years’ experience in exploration and mining geology and management. He held senior positions in Burmine and the Shell Group of Companies where he was responsible for discovering the Los Santos tungsten deposit in Spain, before founding Minotaur Gold in 1993.  He was awarded AMEC’s Prospector of the Year Award in 2003 for the discovery of the Prominent Hill copper-gold deposit.

    Lachlan has over 20 years’ experience in mine development and operations across multiple commodities in Australia, Africa and Asia.  Prior to Hillgrove, Lachlan was responsible for Stemcor’s global mining assets, developing their iron ore and manganese portfolio in India and a nickel project in Indonesia at a time when Stemcor’s annual turnover exceeded £6Bn.
