High-grade gold is the order of the day at Meeka’s St Anne’s prospect with drilling intersecting strong mineralisation and visible gold within the targeted shear zone.

Notable assays from the reverse circulation drill program include an eye-watering 4m intersection grading 87.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from a down-hole depth of 172m (22SARC005).

This gold was intersected in fresh rock about 100m below high-grade oxide results such 32m at 16.07g/t gold from 48m and 20m at 20.47g/t gold from 48m just lends further support to Meeka Metal’s (ASX:MEK) belief that St Anne’s is much larger than originally believed.

Likewise, assays are pending for a further 71 aircore holes while diamond drilling is progressing well with all five holes drilled to date intersecting the target shear zone.

“The intersection of high-grade gold in fresh rock below the oxide horizon points to the tenor of this system,” managing director Tim Davidson said.

“In addition to these RC results, all five diamond drill holes completed to date have intersected the shear zone with intervals of sulphides and quartz marking the lode position.

“This diamond drilling remains ongoing with step out holes currently being drilled below and to the south of the hole 22SARC005. Core processing is underway with first assay results expected in December 2022.”

St Anne’s – a growing resource

Meeka’s results to date also highlights the wisdom in deferring the Pre-Feasibility Study for the broader Murchison project until the June 2023 quarter.

While there are more drilling and assays to come, things are already looking up for the initial St Anne’s resource estimate due for release in December.

This is likely to provide a significant boost to overall project resources, which will in turn make for a more attractive PFS.

Other upcoming activity includes initial St Anne’s metallurgical results and updated Turnberry resources in December along with gold assays from St Anne’s diamond drilling and Circle Valley extensional drilling between December 2022 and March 2023.

The company also expects to receive rare earth assays from infill drilling at Circle Valley from December 2022 to March 2023.
