Rise and Shine: What you need to know before the ASX opens

The week ahead

The RBA will be in focus in the early part of the week, with governor Philip Lowe scheduled to give a speech on Monday night called ‘Covid, Our Changing Economy and Monetary Policy’.

Lowe will also make a panel appearance on Wednesday night, while the minutes from the central bank’s November meeting are out on Tuesday.

The headline data release of the week will be the October jobs report, where Westpac expects the national unemployment rate to tick higher to 7.2 per cent.
