Here are the key ASX small cap winners and losers at lunch Friday March 15.
The ASX Small Ords was up 2.7 points or 0.1 per cent to 2,791.3 at 12.10pm AEST.
GOING UP
Alara Resources (ASX:AUQ) is the morning’s biggest winner, up 50 per cent to 3c, thanks to a huge $96 million investment into Al Hadeetha Resources, a joint venture of Alara’s.
Qatar’s SAMA Global Investment tipped in the money for development of the Washihi-Mazzaza copper project in Oman.
1st Group (ASX:1ST) rose 21 per cent to 3c after it signed a strategic pilot agreement with Medibank.
1st’s MyHealth1st platform will power Medibank’s Members’ Choice Advantage online booking service.
GI Dynamics (ASX:GID) saw its shares jump 20 per cent to 1.8c after receiving some good news this week from the UK National Health Service.
New data on its patented EndoBarrier treatment showed a significant reduction in HbA1c, weight, liver fat and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risks as well as a reduction in the need for insulin in some patients.

Meteroic Resources (ASX:MEI) rose 30 per cent to 1c before putting its shares into a trading halt.
It will release information about an acquisition by Tuesday next week.
