Could this year’s Tokyo Olympic Games get shafted by coronavirus fears? VP of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and real person Dick Pound reckons so.

The IOCs longest serving member (actually true) said there was likely a three-month window to determine the fate of the Olympics as coronavirus spreads across the globe.

#DickPound is now trending on Twitter, which is apparently something that happens every few years:

Overall, market sentiment is up and down as the coronavirus story develops. The ASX200 and Small Ords Indexes both softened in morning trade, down 0.18 per cent and 0.06 per cent respectively.

Packaging company Pro-Pac Packaging (ASX:PPG) (say that fast) was among the morning’s biggest gainers, up ~20 per cent in early trade.

The company announced a $7.6m profit — a big turnaround from last year’s $144m loss (which was due to a one-off good will impairment).

It also was able to pay down over $6m in debt due to earnings growth.

Gold explorers Ausgold (ASX:AUC), Toro Energy (ASX:TOE), Classic Minerals (ASX:CLZ) and Marmota (ASX:MEU) also nudged higher on interesting exploration results at their respective projects.
