Australian Vanadium Limited (ASX:AVL) is an emerging producer of Vanadium (V) – a critical mineral in Australia and the US – with a focus on developing The Australian Vanadium Project in Western Australia. Vanadium is primarily used to strengthen steel while energy storage is a growing market. Vanadium electrolyte is a key component in the vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) and AVL’s fully owned subsidiary VSUN Energy is dedicated to growing this market in Australia.
The Australian Vanadium Project consists of a high-grade V-Ti-Fe deposit located in the Murchison Province, approximately 43kms south of the mining town of Meekatharra in Western Australia and 740km north-east of Perth. In September 2019, The Australian Vanadium Project was awarded Major Project Status in recognition of its national strategic significance.
