The strategic, new blood pouring into iCandy is set to enhance the ASX-lister’s growing presence as the leading games developer in Southeast Asia and Australia.

Leading Aussie game developer iCandy Interactive (ASX:ICI) is bolstering its management credentials with the appointment of new key executives.

The board of iCandy has just announced the appointment of executives from Storms and Lemon Sky Studios to take on iCandy group-level roles.

Storms and Lemon Sky are two of the companies recently acquired by iCandy.

The strategic moves are secondment arrangements where key executives from Storms and Lemon Sky Studios will dedicate part of their time towards iCandy Group-level activities, while still maintaining their respective responsibilities at those two companies.

iCandy believes that these appointments reflect the group’s future-forward vision and mission.

The company’s vision revolves around ensuring operational excellence and acceleration towards the company’s market focus as a Triple-A metaverse and Web3.0 gaming powerhouse.

Who’s coming on board

David Yin, who is the current CEO of Storms, will undertake a secondment role as the President of Web 3.0 Gaming of iCandy Group.

Yin has over 20 years of experience across gaming technology, and is also an avid startup mentor, advisor as well as angel investor within the industry.

He’s headed business development for apps and games across Southeast Asia and Australia for Google in his past role.

Yin has also been instrumental in working with more than 50 startups to scale up to combined valuations in excess of US$10 billion.

Tanu Gulati, who is the current VP of Platforms, Tech, and Strategy at Storms, will also undertake a secondment role as the Chief Strategy and Project Management Officer of iCandy.

Gulati has over 10 years of experience in corporate and management consulting, with experiences from The Boston Consulting Group, Lazada, Viacom and Singtel, to name a few.

Shn Juay, who is currently the VP of B2B at Storms, has accepted the secondment role to become the Chief Marketing Officer of iCandy.

Juay was the former CEO of Paktor, a location-based dating and networking app, and was responsible for driving the company’s business valuation tenfold.

She specialises in scaling the growth of mobile businesses globally, utilising both data analytics and strategic marketing initiatives.

Last but not least, Alvin Chin, who is presently the Chief Financial Officer of Lemon Sky Studios, will become the Finance Director of iCandy.

Chin has more than 15 years of experience in financial reporting, operations and treasury, with vast experience in strategic and financial forecasting and modelling.

He has previously held finance-related positions in event management and marketing consulting firms, a media conglomerate and an international oilfield services company.

iCandy believes these new appointments will enhance its standing as the largest game developer in Australia and Southeast Asia.
