Now, the company is officially launching its ground-breaking six-month early access program, injecting a significant $1.6m worth of value into the start-up ecosystem.

Each participant in the exclusive program stands to gain $32,000 worth of mentorship and technical support from the Baseline team, aimed at propelling start-ups from the concept stage to a minimum viable product (MVP).

Statistics show that 90% of start-ups don’t last the distance. On average over 60% of tech start-ups fail, with 25% calling it quits in the first year.

Ken Kencevski, founder and managing director of Baseline, is no stranger to the challenges tech start-ups face.

Drawing from personal experiences in building Devika, he emphasised Baseline’s commitment to redefining the start-up journey.

The framework is designed not just to build products but to cultivate an ecosystem where speed, scalability, and simplicity converge.

So far, applications built on the Baseline development framework have been downloaded by 3m+ end users and processed over $500m in transactions,  with many apps number #1 on the App Store.

 

A ‘beacon of hope for start-ups’

Thomas Nixon, technical cofounder of Baseline, said both he and Kencevski had “run the gauntlet” that start-up founders faced.

“We have both seen innovative ideas stumble thanks to technical hurdles, or a simple flaw in the way a business monetises its customers,” he said.

“Baseline is the service that Ken and I wished we had available to us when we started out, and a beacon of hope for start-ups.”

Baseline’s philosophy centres around speed and adaptability as critical elements for success. The company created a TypeScript cloud-native framework, akin to Ruby on Rails but without Ruby, leveraging the expertise gained from building and launching over 50 applications.

The Baseline early access program is a unique opportunity for early-stage start-ups building web apps. With a limited 50 spots available, the program offers a Baseline license and hypercare support to help start-ups get up and running.

Ideal participants should be in the early stages of development, armed with designs and a clear MVP, and open to or already using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

As Baseline actively invites participants facing common pain points in their start-up journey, the focus is on addressing challenges such as complex infrastructure setup, lack of serverless expertise, scalability concerns, security challenges and development tooling overhead.
