‘Spectacular, high-grade’: Loyal Lithium’s hit up to 5.44% Li2O at its James Bay project

Special Report: Channel assay results from three out of six pegmatite dykes at Loyal Lithium’s Trieste project in James Bay, Canada, have demonstrated a strong average lithium grade while maiden drilling is underway.
James Bay newcomer Loyal Lithium (ASX:LLI) is in good company in Quebec’s prolific lithium district with Winsome Resources’ (ASX:WR1) 59Mt @ 1.12% Li2O Adina-Jamar project just 10km to the west.
High grades from pegmatites
High-grade lithium was intersected at Dyke’s #01, #04 and #05 holes, with hits of up to 5.44% Li2O, further confirming a high average grade of lithium across the pegmatites after rock chip assay results from last year found Li2O mineralisation of up to a whopping 7.6%.
Notable high-grade channel assay results showed 11.5m @ 1.72% Li2O at Dyke #01, including 2.5m @ 2.31% Li2O and 3.6m @ 2.03% Li2O.
At Dyke #04, results showed 21m @ 1.01% Li2O, including 1m @ 5.44% Li2O and 1m @ 4.82% Li2O – which contains a giant 2.8m-long spodumene crystal.
LLI says the results complement the recently announced high-grade rock chip assay results and confirm the abundance of large spodumene crystals that were documented on surface during the summer field campaign in August last year.
LLI MD Adam Ritchie says the Trieste greenstone is rapidly evolving, with five distinct spodumene discoveries now documented, including WR1’s recently announced maiden mineral resource estimate of the nearby Adina-Jamar project.
“We firmly believe that understanding and maximising the advantages of the metasediment host zone will distinguish the Trieste lithium project above other James Bay lithium projects,” Ritchier says.
“The potential mining and processing advantages could position Trieste as a low-cost producer, and we are eager to involve our loyal investors in this educational journey.
“With the Dyke #01 drilling assay results due in January, we are excited about unlocking the unique metasediment host zone of the Trieste lithium project in 2024.”
The explorer has now shifted its focus to its drilling program targeting the mineralised pegmatite dykes.
Drilling of Dyke #01 is underway and first assays from the maiden campaign are due this month.
