Pan Asia’s Reung Kiet project in southern Thailand continues to deliver the goods with drilling defining extensive pegmatite dyke-vein swarms containing lithium mineralisation.

Importantly, the mineralisation is associated with lepidolite, a lithium-rich mica minerals with a suite of ancillary minerals such as tin, tantalum, caesium and rubidium that can reduce the overall cost of lithium extraction.

Assay results from three holes completed by Pan Asia Metals (ASX:PAM) are 8.5m at 0.51% lithium oxide from 137.7m and 10.2m at 0.41% Li2O from 159.9m in RKDD013, 11.8m at 0.84% Li2O from 133.2m including 5.1m at 1.11% Li2O from 135.9m in RKDD014, and 18m at 0.62% Li2O from 127m including 9.3m at 0.86% Li2O from 127m in RKDD015.

These grades are in line with other lithium mica projects in the company’s global peer group.

It added that the dyke-vein swarm is up to 100m wide and contains numerous pegmatites up to 13m wide while the mineralised trend is about 1km long and remains open to the north and south.

Managing director Paul Lock said the drilling results at Rueng Kiet to date suggest that the company’s goal of identifying and developing projects that have the potential to be placed at or near the bottom of the cost curve, while providing the option to move past the mine gate and add value, is realistic.

“Our drilling activities at Reung Kiet continue to deliver positive results,” he added.

“As reported in mid-July, PAM moved to double shift to accelerate the infill and extensional drilling required to estimate a Mineral Resource in accordance with the JORC Code 2012 – which we anticipate later this year.

“We have also started preparatory work for a Scoping Study, which we are aiming to complete soon after reporting Mineral Resources. The lithium market is buoyant, and

PAM is looking to add to its lithium exploration portfolio with several target exploration blocks identified.”

Drilling is ongoing at Reung Kiet while assays are pending for a further six holes with additional drilling underway.
