Golden Mile has identified three high priority drill targets at its Yuinmery gold and base metal projects in the Youanmi greenstone belt in Western Australia’s Murchison region.

The identification of the Yuinmery Trend, Happy Camper and Pirates Patch targets follows a review of the project combining new information from successful aircore drilling in November 2022 with historical geochemical data and rotary air blast drilling data as well as recently acquired multiclient aeromagnetic data.

Additionally, the review recommended that follow-up drilling be carried out at the Elephant Reef, Ladies Patch and Hammerhead gold prospects which were upgraded by aircore drilling last year.

Golden Mile Resources (ASX:G88) notes that the prospects are located within a large 5.8km long by 1.1km wide area of gold-in-soil enrichment that is coincident with the regional Yuinmery Fault.

Shallow broad spaced aircore and historical RAB drilling had encountered favourable geology with widespread gold anomalism demonstrating that Yuinmery is located in a highly prospective gold setting.

Previous drilling had intersected gold bearing reefs with results such as 6m at 1.49g/t gold from 12m and 5m at 1.35g/t gold from 6m.

New and follow-up targets

The company noted that there are large areas that remain completely untested by any drilling within the main region of surface gold enrichment.

These include a 1.1km strike of strong gold-in-soil enrichment along the Yuinmery Fault (Yuinmery Trend), which represents a sheared granite-greenstone contact that has about 3km of general gold enrichment along or adjacent to this faulted contact through to the Happy Camper target to the southeast where the gold enrichment becomes strong again.

Golden Mile notes that this trend has only seen two lines of shallow, historical RAB drilling and one line of shallow aircore holes, which is insufficient to assess its potential.

Both Yuinmery Trend and Happy Camper represent compelling gold targets when making comparisons to the nearby Youanmi gold deposit about 12km to the west.

The majority of the gold mineralisation encountered to date at the Youanmi gold deposit, has occurred along or adjacent to the faulted granite/greenstone contact orientated in the same direction as the Yuinmery Trend.

Auger drilling is planned to define RC targets along this trend.

In addition, Pirates Patch is an 800m by 400m of strong gold-in-soil enrichment about 600m west of the Yuinmery Fault on a parallel trend that has not been subject to any drilling.

It is considered a high priority target with the company planning to test it with RC drilling.
