The Recharge team are going to ground after sky-high data analysis identified four high-priority lithium targets at the Express lithium project.

Recharge Metals (ASX:REC) engaged consultants Dahrouge Geological – of James Bay celebrity vendor DG Resource Management – to interpret satellite and photo imagery, subsequently identifying a significant number of outcropping pegmatites at the Express deposit.

They found a significant area of outcrop within Express containing a number of targets showing potential for outcropping lithium-bearing pegmatites, including across areas historically mapped inside the project area.

The latest finds build upon first spectral results that outlined three significant lithium targets along regional structural trends where the likes of Allkem’s James Bay and Cygnus Metals’ Pontax lithium projects also lie.

REC MD Felicity Repacholi-Muir said they have studied the results and flagged four high-priority target areas at Express to focus their attention on.

“The aerial imagery is very much the key dataset for the detailed planning of our field program, and I am delighted that we have already locked in the helicopter, accommodation, and field team,” Repacholi-Muir said.

“The extensive outcrops present at Express provide encouragement for the potential of lithium bearing pegmatites to be discovered, and we continue to source alternative datasets to refine our targeting.

“I am very much looking forward to getting in the field and ground truthing these target areas.”

The four targets have been ranked to have the greatest potential within the project area and match the regional structural trend where nearby  Brunswick Exploration and Cygnus Metals have both uncovered sizeable lithium deposits.

Next up

On ground exploration will be conducted and include detailed geological mapping and sampling of the priority target areas detailed above to confirm the presence and geochemistry of the lithologies present.

Diamond drilling will be subsequently completed on key lithium targets identified from the mapping and geochemical sampling.

Further datasets such as aeromagnetic data (from open file and historical surveys) and LIDAR data are also planned to further refine the target areas and aid target ranking.
