Rise and Shine: Everything you need to know before the market opens

Local shares are set to fall on Wednesday despite a rise on Wall St. At 8am AEST, the ASX 200 October futures contract was pointing down by 0.40%.

A couple of stocks – KEY Petroluem (ASX:KEY) and health-tech bizzo Medibio (ASX:MEB) closed some 50% higher on no news.

Meanwhile, shares in ~$8.95m market cap explorer African Gold (ASX:A1G) rose 20% after discovering “significant gold potential” at the Didievi Project in Côte d’Ivoire.

Exploration work generated an abundance of new targets within Didievi, which require follow-up in the upcoming dry season, the company said.

Results at the Blaffo Gueto prospect include:

• 10m at 123g/t gold from 66m, including 2m at 613g/t gold; and
• 17g/t gold from 244m including 1m at 216g/t gold.
