While most of us would appreciate a drink during this festive season, taking a sip out of a 150-year-old bottle might be pushing your luck just a tad.
So when news emerged that an Antiques Roadshow expert had taken a drink from a bottle dating back to the 1840s, we couldn’t help but wince.
Even more so when it was revealed that the bottle did not contain port or red wine, but a mixture of urine, rusty nails and other unsavoury items – apparently an old remedy to ward off witches.

Thankfully the Aussie markets weren’t too hungover, with the ASX200 up 6.1 points (0.09 per cent) at 6,690 points and the Small Ords up 1 point (0.03 per cent) to 2,899 points.
