Monday August 21

I had to do some running around today and a bit of driving, so wasn’t checking things too much.

CBA kept drifting around but managed an 11.00am rally. I did hover my finger over the buy button but RIOs were distracting me.

I thought being down $1 and coming into that 11.00am territory, I was onto a sure quick winner.

Not so. Had to double down and when I next checked them they had bounced off a low of $103.85. Amazingly they did recover and I had them split on a limit order, just below $105, so I got some pleasure in the end.

Had a go in A2M but basically cut them after I managed to walk away from the RIOs in the green.

Up $410 and have added a chart on CBA and you need to look at them after 12.00pm as just a constant sell down on double the normal volumes. Their day range was not as big as RIO’s but that volume was.

Hopefully, my day routine should be back to normal today, with a lot less driving.

Tuesday August 22

BHP’s figures were disappointing, so they opened down 75c from yesterday’s close. Thought just go for it and had another limit order in at $42.50, just in case. Same for CBA, went for them with a limit in at $97.85.

Didn’t need either lower limits as by 10.13am, I’ve done my dash as up $590 and think that is my day done.

Or so I thought.

Then CBA fall back below $98.00 so pick some up and then also put in a lower limit, which this time comes into play.

Low and behold they finally have a run back up towards that $98 level again and out they went on a limit again.

RIOs had a funny day and rallied $1.00 in the last 30 mins but too hairy for me and I didn’t want to test my luck and have it go against me.

Up $910 thanks mainly to CBA and loving them below that $99 level!

Wednesday August 23

Started out in CBA, below $99.00. I just thought bucket. At some point they will reach back towards $99, so left a limit in just below that level.

Came in, in good time, but not as good as WTC. They were a trader’s delight today.

They closed down $16.00 a share at $69.60 and they were able to keep on giving for me today.

Their volatility was mad today and each time I thought that was it, just walk away, I kept getting seduced back in!

Even in my last punt.

It was 3.30pm and I just cut down my size and just went for it in 200 shares only, as it was a heads or tail trade.

This trade finished off the day nicely for me and I must say that so far, I am loving this reporting season.

Up $2,014 and now more wiser and more tech savvy than I was at the start of today!

Thursday August 24

Another big day today. Up $1,260 after starting with BHP. RIOs were up overnight and I had the idea that this would drag BHP up as well. Eventually it did but it took a bit of time.

Whilst waiting had a crack at Costa after they were marked down 12%. That came in good, within 1 min of opening the trade and then BHP hit my limit. Up $375 and it is 10.11am, so broke yesterday’s record.

Then it was back to WTC, who touched $68.10 three times and bounced. I got them on their third bounce and put them on at 40c higher, to sell. This worked out okay except they closed at $75.25. Yikes!

Left more than just the kitchen table there. Left the whole friggin’ house!

Anyway, RIOs fell below $108, so picked some up and had to double down.

Same for BHP but they are getting frustrating.

Cut them for a small loss and then had one last hurrah in them before the close and came out with the same gross loss, yet again.

Hopefully tomorrow lets me have a few morning trades, so the afternoon can just drift on without me.

Friday August 25

Today I got what I wished for.

I just decided to go long RIOs with another lower buy limit as insurance and just not watch, but let them be.

Everytime I watch too much, it always does the opposite of what I want.

So had a limit sell from first buy in and very occasionally looked.

I left them below $107 and came back to them around lunch time. Sell limit was hit and then having had my insurance hit, meant I had another 1000 to go and out they went!

Magical stuff and was celebrating by 1.00pm, propping up the bar, with an icy cold schooner in hand, overlooking Shoal Bay on a glorious winter’s day.

It’s good to be alive!

Up $5,524 gross and $4,616 net. Cheers!
