A quick wrap of the key winners and losers on Wednesday, July 1.
Data is taken after the market closes at 4pm EST.
Stocks highlighted in yellow made market-moving announcements during the day.
Today 874 stocks rose, 463 declined and 776 were unchanged.
Today’s leader, Alterity Therapeutics (ASX:ATH), went up over 800 per cent after saying it had received guidance from the FDA about the development pathway for its anti-Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) drug.
But that news actually came yesterday, leading to an ASX price query. The company had no explanation beyond yesterday’s news except for the spike it saw on its NASDAQ shares overnight.
More modest climbers today included Victory Mines (ASX:VIC), which announced an earn-in agreement over historical gold producing tenements in Western Australia, and retail data play Family Insights Group (ASX:FAM) after it said a recent project had been a success.
Gold play Torian Resources (ASX:TNR) plunged this afternoon after an exploration update that left shareholders disappointed.
