Investors began the new financial year in a risk-on mood. 675 stocks are up, 314 are down and 1124 are unchanged. Surprisingly for the two biggest movers it was about yesterdays’ news.
Alterity Therapeutics (ASX:ATH) more than quintipled after yesterday informing shareholders it had received guidance from the FDA about the development pathway for its anti-Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) drug.
After climbing over 1,000 per cent yesterday, Etherstack (ASX:ESK) climbed by another 98 per cent. In case you missed the news yesterday, it signed a deal with global behemoth Samsung Electronics.
Regular readers of this column would recognise penny stock Victory Mines (ASX:VIC) as a familiar stock moving between 0.1 cents and 0.2 cent without news. But today it did have news – namely an earn in agreement with historical gold producing tenements in Western Australia.
