On Monday, the ASX had its best day in four months.

The ASX200’s 2.6 per cent surge reversed last week’s 2.9 per cent tumble – which was the Aussie market’s worst since mid-April.

That’s volatility for you.

The spark was a favourable Federal Budget, due to be handed down tonight, and an ostensibly healthy(er) looking President Trump, who left hospital just three days after being admitted with worsening COVID-19 symptoms.

Trump’s doctors are treating him with a cocktail of drugs, including the steroid dexamethasone. Looks like powerful stuff.

The Aussie market is off to a quiet start on Tuesday, with the ASX200 index only marginally weaker at lunchtime EST.

The ASX’s first neobank Douugh (ASX:DOU) has begun trading on the ASX, gaining over 90 per cent by lunchtime. The company listed via a reverse takeover of Ziptel (ASX:ZIP).

An announcement reiterating that rare-earths friendly US Presidential order from last Wednesday was enough to send American Rare Earths (ASX:ARR) on another run in early trade.

Tombador Iron (ASX:TI1) is reskinned property stock RESA Group (formerly iBuyNew Group).

It’s main game now is an advanced high-grade hematite iron ore project in Brazil, which it reckons could be in production within 12 months.

And Motorcycle Holdings (ASX:MTO) expects “better than expected” earnings above $20m for the first half of the current financial year.
