On the Bid is a Stockhead video series featuring a roundtable of experts discussing a new investment topic each week.

In this edition, host Christina Morrissy discusses a bit of tech that is changing the way we see the world. Remotely piloted and equiped with sensors, drones are becoming an integral part of search and rescue, policing, mining, shark monitoring at beaches, bushfire detection and much more.

In this episode Christina chats to Yoav Amitai, CEO at Elsight (ASX:ELS) and Dario Valenza, founder at Carbonix.

Elsight has become a market leader in BVLOS communication solutions, and has partnered with over 70 different drone and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) manufacturers and operators who are all using Halo as their connectivity solution.

Elsight recently commented saying that drones could make the difference between life and death for victims of natural disasters

Carbonix is a leading manufacturer in Australia and solutions provider of commercial UAV. Founded in 2012 by America’s Cup veteran Dario Valenza, the company has pioneered the development of long-range Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) drones for aerial surveillance and precision data capture.

In South Australia, a state reeling from devastating floods, drone player Carbonix has partnered with electricity distributor SA Power Networks to conduct BVLOS aerial inspection on remote electricity lines and other assets across its 180,000km2 footprint.

The panel discuss a range of topics including how drones are improving our life, Dario’s journey to founding Carbonix, ELS’s innovations to solve connectivity issues, partnership deals and more.
