Moho has started drilling to test three targets at its Silver Swan North project in Western Australia for their nickel-copper potential.

The 10-hole reverse circulation program will follow up on a coincidental nickel-copper soil anomaly at the Dukes prospect and historical nickel-copper rotary air blast drill intersections at the T3 and T4 target areas.

Moho Resources (ASX:MOH) had previously noted the identification of coincident nickel and copper soil anomalies averaging 616 parts per million and 102ppm respectively over 2.5km overlays a 3.6km long magnetic anomaly at Dukes, which is hosted in ultramafics with interpreted similarities to the Black Swan Ultramafic Complex.

Meanwhile, both T3 and T4 were identified in historical RAB drilling by NiQuest with an intercept of 30m at 1,633ppm nickel and 222ppm copper at T3, and 10m at 2,000ppm nickel and 440ppm copper and 10m at 2,800ppm nickel and 138ppm copper at T4.

“This RC drill program is an exciting development for the company given the nickel-copper coincidence of these targets and their locations over mapped ultramafic zones and respective proximities of 5km and 10 km from Poseidon’s Silver Swan/Black Swan Nickel Operations,” managing director Ralph Winter said.

“Exploration here is further solidification of the company’s critical minerals strategy and advancement of this opportunity to create value for the company and its shareholders.”

Drill objectives

Drilling at the Dukes prospect is designed to further unlock the nickel potential of the Silver Swan North Project and reflects the company’s commitment to comprehensively test the project area for komatiite hosted nickel sulphides.

Three holes are planned along the east-west fence targeting the komatiite footwall contact while another two holes are planned along the north-south fence.

Two holes are planned at T3 targeting the komatiite footwall contact, which is also the target for the three holes that will be drilled at T4.

Next steps

Moho will now carry out heritage surveys over relevant areas of tenements for further drilling operations to be completed.

It will also undertake infill and additional soil geochemical sampling over komatiitic sequences not previously sampled, and model geology and assay results to target further drilling over target areas.
