Infinity Stone’s early exploration at the Buda project in Ontario, Canada, has uncovered potentially economic lithium, rubidium and beryllium mineralisation.

A total of 32 grab and 22 channel samples were collected from the 1,451 hectare property and sent for multi-element analysis.

One grab sample returned a lithium value of 367 parts per million (ppm) lithium while seven samples had rubidium values exceeding 1,000ppm with a high of 2,090ppm.

Additionally, a single sample returned a highly anomalous beryllium value of 4,200ppm along with 1,320ppm rubidium.

This result is hugely encouraging for Infinity Stone Ventures with chief executive officer Zayn Kalyan saying that the initial results had returned all the pathfinder indications of a mineralised lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite.

“With our drilling team already mobilised in the region at the Rockstone Graphite Project, we are looking to commence our Winter Drill Program immediately, providing further catalyst for short-term growth,” he added.

“The proximity of the Rockstone Graphite and Buda Lithium Projects to infrastructure in Thunder Bay, as well as to each other, presents a strategic opportunity for the development of a diversified battery metal producer in a region that is becoming integral to the North American EV and battery metal supply chain.”

Buda pegmatite property

Buda is located 50km west of Thunder Bay along Highway 17/11, which along with a network of bush roads provides excellent access.

It is classified as a rare metal LCT pegmatite, which are characteristically enriched in lithium, caesium, tantalum, beryllium, rubidium, niobium, and tin.

Historical exploration conducted in the early 1980s by Steep Rock Iron Mines for feldspar mapped seven pegmatite dikes (dykes), the largest being Steep Rock Dike.

Infinity Stone’s sampling followed the local strike orientation of the pegmatite dike swarm, as indicated by structural rock fabric measurements.

The company has also received exploration permits from the Ontario Ministry of Mines and intends to commence a diamond drill program immediately to test pegmatite layers perpendicular to outcrop zones.

Pre-drill surveying of roads, trails and pads is expected to be completed by November 30, 2022, with mobilisation of drill equipment following immediately thereafter.

Other activity

Separately, drilling at the Rockstone graphite project near Thunder Bay is progressing well with the completion of RS-22-01, a twin of the historical GC-12-01 hole.

Hole RS-22-01 intersected a 3m massive to semi-massive graphite lens within a wider 25m pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite-pyrite rich interval hosting lesser graphite amongst the sulphides.

The drill program is expected to be completed by the end of this week with the drilling of the RS-22-03 step out drill hole.

Success at Rockstone could allow Infinity Stone to help meet the growing graphite deficits that are expected to persist through 2025.
