• Five targets will be tested in the drilling program at the Yuinmery project
  • G88 hopes to understand the style and setting of the gold mineralisation at Yuinmery
  • G88 will also commence soil sampling along the Yuinmery Trend and Happy Camper Gold prospects

Golden Mile Resources will hit five prospective targets in a five-hole drilling program at the Yuinmery gold and base metal project, just 12km from the advanced 3.2Moz Youanmi gold project in WA’s Murchison region.

Golden Mile Resources (ASX:G88) says the drilling of the targets — identified from previous aircore drilling , aeromagnetic data and the Yuinmery review conducted in May — is designed to understand the style and setting of the gold mineralisation at Yuinmery.

From this work, G88 hopes to determine the best exploration methods going forward and refine targets through improving the data density from soil sampling along the Yuinmery Trend and Happy Camper gold prospects.

Drilling will be conducted within the Elephant Reef, Ladies Patch, Pirates Patch, Happy Camper, and Yuinmery Trend targets – areas associated with very strong gold-in-soil anomalies and aeromagnetic structural anomalies and where near surface gold mineralisation has been intersected.

“It’s great to have the consolidated works program finalised for Yuinmery,” G88 managing director Damon Dormer says.

“The drill rig is booked, and we look forward to the commencement of this program.”

Yuinmery background

G88’s Yuinmery project features a large 5.8km long x 1.1km wide area, coincident with a structurally complex area associated with a flexure of the large regional Yuinmery Fault.

Current and historical aircore and RAB drilling within this area encountered widespread anomalous gold associated with quartz veining and alteration, strong shearing, and a mixture of dolerite, basalt, and mafic and ultramafic schists – which all point to the area being highly prospective for gold mineralisation.

Drilling at flagship project Quicksilver hits high grade nickel

G88 recently completed a 7 hole drilling program drilling at its flagship Quicksilver nickel-cobalt project, designed to test a high grade area beneath the oxide resource.

This could potentially transform the project, an oxide clay hosted nickel-cobalt deposit with a current indicated and inferred resource of 23.6Mt at 0.64% nickel and 0.043% cobalt for a contained 168,500t of nickel and 11,300t of cobalt.

Assays are pending, and metallurgical test work is also underway.
