Gina Rinehart-backed Catalyst Metals (ASX:CYL) has drilled through multiple gold zones in one hole at Boyd’s Dam, part of the Four Eagles project in Victoria, including 23m grading 18.34 grams per tonne (g/t), 99m from surface.

That’s the trifecta — thick, not very deep, and very high-grade.

Additional intersections of 1m grading 52.7g/t and 1m grading 23.7g/t confirm Boyd’s Dam “as a significant greenfields gold discovery”, Catalyst technical director Bruce Kay says.

“The intersection in FERC284 is one of the best gold zones ever recorded at Four Eagles where Boyd’s Dam continues to deliver high-grade gold intervals with values greater than 100g/t gold,” he says.

“It is very positive to record multiple zones in the one drill hole extending the gold system below 120m depth.”

The high-grade Four Eagles project is a 50:50 joint venture between Catalyst and Gold Exploration Victoria, a subsidiary of Rinehart’s Hancock Prospecting.

Argentinean explorer E2 Metals (ASX:E2M) leads the lunchtime winners column with a +130 per cent gain on some high-grade gold and silver drilling results at the Conserrat project.

In March, E2 managed to punch in five drill holes at the early stage ‘Mia’ prospect before the program was interrupted by Argentina’s mandatory isolation measures to control the COVID-19 pandemic.

These holes have just returned hits like 16m at 3.9g/t gold and 123g/t silver — including 8m at 7.64g/t gold and 216g/t silver — 76m from surface.

Advanced +3moz WA explorer Bardoc (ASX:BDC) says the Mayday North ‘satellite’ deposit at its namesake project could actually be “a large-scale mineralised system”.

Recent drilling at Mayday North has returned thick high-grade gold like 25.7m at 2.20g/t gold from 79.7m, including a higher grade 6.2m section grading 4.09g/t.

A significant feature of the mineralisation is its widths and even grade distribution, the company says. Mayday North will now become a key focus for ongoing exploration over the next few months.

Bardoc Gold chief executive Robert Ryan says this drilling demonstrates the potential for a large-scale mineral system.

“Given that minimal exploration has been completed over this area in the past two decades, we will utilise modern exploration techniques to define new mineralised trends and high-grade conductors, as we look to further expand the current 79koz resource,” he says.

“The excellent results from Mayday North further highlight the exceptionally strong pipeline of exploration projects we have at the Bardoc project that supports the potential for future resource and reserve growth above and beyond what we have outlined in our recent PFS.

“Given the clear potential for Mayday North to become one of our cornerstone resources, we are looking forward to accelerating our exploration activities in this area over the coming months.”
