ASX newcomer Dynamic Metals is maintaining a blistering pace with a drill rig mobilising for its first drill program at the Widgiemooltha lithium-nickel-gold project since listing earlier this month.

The drill program will test the Dordie Far West nickel target on the northwest margin of the Widgiemooltha dome for Kambalda-type nickel sulphide mineralisation using geological interpretations developed by Dynamic’s specialist komatiite nickel exploration consultant.

Dordie Far West was first detected in reverse circulation drilling completed by Mincor Resources in the late 2000s.

Notable results from this historical drilling included 8m grading 1.3% nickel from a down-hole depth of 26m and 2m at 1.9% nickel from 26m.

New modelling of historical data

Dynamic Metals’ (ASX:DYM) recent geological modelling of the historical data set indicates that these results might represent the keel of a synform in the ultramafic stratigraphy along the komatiite-basalt contact.

Planning for future drill programs is also well advanced with all permitting for drilling at the Mandilla, Higginsville, and Sunday Soak targets already in place.

The company is also progressing earlier stage lithium exploration programs with regional mapping and sampling for target generation across all projects.

Widgiemooltha consists of 17 exploration licences, eight prospecting licences, 23 exploration licence applications and three prospecting licence applications about 100km south of Kalgoorlie.

Notably, it is strategically located close to necessary infrastructure including road, rail and processing facilities.

Other exploration

Dynamic is also laying the groundwork for aircore drilling, targeting nickel sulphide mineralisation at the Lake Percy project in Western Australia’s southeastern Goldfields region.

This 100-hole program will test five targets that were defined using the compiled historical dataset and reprocessed fixed wing aeromagnetic data.

Drilling will also provide information to assist in targeting potential lithium-caesium-tantalum pegmatite mineralisation.

Geochemical analysis on existing trench and drill spoils indicates positive fractionation trends for LCT mineralisation.

Over at Deep Well, the company recently completed a reconnaissance field trip which provided further geological context for anomalous rock chip samples, which will assist in planning and permitting the first AC drill program intended to be drilled in the second half of 2023.

Deep Well is located 35km southeast of Meekatharra on the southern extension of the Gnaweeda Greenstone Belt.

What exploration carried out to date has been focused on gold despite the presence of a large regional structure with known association to nickel-copper-PGE and copper-gold deposits supported by geochemical anomalies.
