Aldoro continues to be encouraged by drilling at the VC1 target in Western Australia after the third and fourth holes also intersected massive sulphides.
Hole NDD0003 intersected about 1.9m of massive sulphides while NDD0004 returned 0.9m of massive sulphides along with several zones of disseminated and blebby sulphides totaling 124.9m.
Aldoro Resources (ASX:ARN) adds that portable XRF analyses have confirmed that both nickel and copper are present in the sulphides, which remain open in all directions outside the current 240m of drill tested plunge extent.
This is expected to guide future exploration given that all four drilled at the target within the Narndee Igneous Complex (NIC) have intersected massive sulphide mineralisation.
VC1 and drilling
The VC1 target starts at the base of oxidation and has a strike length of about 100m and a plunge extent of over 550m.
It was chosen as a priority target due to its proximity to a series of exciting historical nickel sulphide intercepts made by Mark Creasy-backed Maximus Resources in 2007.
NDD0003 was designed to test a shallower up plunge position of the VC1 electromagnetic conductor about 80m south-southwest of NDD002 while NDD0004 tested a deeper down plunge position of the VC1 EM conductor 80m north of NDD0001.
The 700sqkm NIC itself has been explored by the likes of BHP and super-prospector Creasy over the years.
Future activity
Aldoro notes that follow-up drilling will be guided by down-hole EM (DHTEM) surveying, which is currently underway.
Results from the survey work on all five available holes is expected to refine the models for follow-up drill targeting.
Meanwhile, the rig will mobilise to the VC3 target to drill a single hole while the DHTEM and refined modelling work is being completed.
