Legacy Iron Ore (ASX:LCY) +414%
This WA gold and iron ore play has been on a tear for the entire week finishing as the biggest weekly gainer on the ASX.
The company has a joint venture for its Mt Bevan magnetite iron ore project in WA with fellow ASX explorer Hawthorn Resources (ASX:HAW).
On Wednesday it said that it is ready to start drilling at its Yilgangi gold deposit within its South Laverton project. Then on Thursday it announced metallurgical testwork results at its Mt Cecilia gold project.
The recent spike in iron ore prices has led to rallies amidst iron ore stocks and prompted companies with mothballed projects to bring them back.
Shree, with a project at Nelson Bay in Tasmania, is one of those and it was a big weekly gainer on the ASX after unveiling its plans for the project.
It mothballed the project in mid-2014 but now is is moving ahead with obtaining permits to restart mining operations at Nelson Bay River mine in the near future.
Brookside Energy (ASX:BRK) +29%
This US-focused oil stock rose by around 30 per cent this week.
On Thursday, it announced it’s now producing around 10 barrels of oil per day from its Mitchell 12-1 well in Oklahoma.

Shares in the ASX’s most notable biotech copped a battering off the back of clinical trial results that left investors disappointed.
Then on Friday, it suffered a huge setback to its study in relation to ailing US COVID-19 patients. An independent committee monitoring the study recommended that the trial complete with the currently enrolled 223 patients, rather than the 300 planned.
While there were no safety concerns, it advised the study was not likely to achieve its primary endpoint.
