Good morning, and welcome to Stockhead’s Top 10 at shortly-before-11-ish, which is meant to highlight the best (and sometimes worst) performing ASX stocks in morning trade using live data, to provide a short, sharp update to help frame the trading day by showing the biggest movers in percentage terms that have made announcements.

The market opens at 10am (eastern time) and the data is taken at 10:15am, once every ASX stock has started trading. Here’s what’s happened so far.

Pre-market, the ASX was expected to open lower, following a red session on Wall Street overnight after US jobs figures came in softer than expected, casting some small doubt over the Fed’s next move on interest rates.

At 8am, the ASX Futures index was pointing 0.04% lower, and b y 10:20am the benchmark was down 0.1%.

Energy stocks will be on the radar today, after Brent crude prices spiked 3.3% overnight to more than US$79.10/bbl, thanks to Hurricane Milton bearing down on the Florida coast and causing a sales spike and a predicted slowdown in US production.
