Rise & Shine: What you need to know before the ASX opens

On Stockhead today, Benchmark’s Simon Moores on identifying the bulls*&t in battery metals analysis, the oil and gas players that are looking for the next big hit in the Perth Basin and sitting fireside with the “Wildcatter” is Helios Energy co founder John Kelly.
But first:
The Reserve Bank of Australia’s governor Philip Lowe will speak publicly on Tuesday, and in the northern hemisphere his Bank of Japan counterpart Haruhiko Kuroda will do the same. US consumer confidence data is also out on Tuesday.
On Wednesday the Reserve Bank of New Zealand will make its decision on interest rates, following a swathe of cuts around the world.
ANZ analysts are predicting stability, ahead of forecast quarter-percentage cuts in the following three terms. The Australian Bureau of Statistics is also dropping fresh agriculture, trade and engineering data.
Labour force data and job vacancies figures will follow from the ABS on Thursday.
And, most importantly, the AFL Grand Final takes place on Saturday.
