The day ahead
RBA governor Philip Lowe is scheduled to give a speech at 11:15am (eastern time) called “The labour market & spare capacity”.
Markets will be watching for any extra colour from the governor on the bank’s view of employment, given that it’s highlighted changes in the jobs market are now the primary catalyst for further changes in the official cash rate.
Elsewhere, the central banks of Japan and the UK will both make interest rate policy announcements.

Oil and gas explorer and developer Red Sky Energy (ROG: ASX) finished top of the pops, nipping up 50 per cent to 3 cents after announcing the results of a strategic review on its fully owned Flax oil & gas project in the Cooper Basin.
The company said it can commence an early development phase that could produce oil revenues within six months, while also further proving up the Flax resource which may hold up to 9.9 million barrels of oil.
