On Stockhead today, near-record ASX200 highs doesn’t mean small cap investors can relax, what Australia can do to fix its poor EV take-up, and what does a travel agent founder want with $4.9m of stock in State Gas?

The day ahead

RBA governor Philip Lowe is scheduled to give a speech at 11:15am (eastern time) called “The labour market & spare capacity”.

Markets will be watching for any extra colour from the governor on the bank’s view of employment, given that it’s highlighted changes in the jobs market are now the primary catalyst for further changes in the official cash rate.

Elsewhere, the central banks of Japan and the UK will both make interest rate policy announcements.
