Among stocks with announcements, FIN Resources (ASX:FIN) and Mount Burgess Mining (ASX:MTB) held their gains to the close of trade, although both companies eased back from midday highs.

Shares in MTB initially rose by more than 80pc before closing 33pc higher, following an update on drilling results at its Kihabe vanadium deposit in Botswana.

All six companies that finished on the winner’s list with market updates were mining stocks, including Rumble Resources (ASX:RTR) which gained 24pc after announcing a $40m cap raise to test the scale and extent of its major Earaheedy zinc-lead discovery in WA. The stock has now gained more than 400pc over the past month.
