On Stockhead today, Guy le Page’s big Bitcoin concern, on-the-boil oil wins March, and Bottom Picker get a very happy Afterpay birthday pressie.
But first…
The All Ordinaries index finished Thursday at 7,050 points, up 0.47 per cent from Wednesday’s close. Technology companies and miners led the way in Thursday trading.
Australian government 10-year bonds were yielding 1.79 per cent Thursday, up slightly from a week ago.
Investors eyes will turn to the US this week after President Joe Biden unveiled his American Jobs Plan that focuses on nation-building assets like roads, bridges and electricity grids.
The jobs plan comes with a $US2.3 trillion ($3 trillion) price tag and is to be paid for by increased taxes, including a higher rate of corporation tax at 28 per cent up from 21 per cent.
Analysts said the spending package could put upward pressure on US 10-year bond yields as the US government will need to sell more of these, and this could affect stock prices.

There is also Reuben Adams’ story on why automotive demand for platinum group metals is not going to go away any time soon, and this got readers talking too.
