And the minutes from the RBA’s December meeting will be released tomorrow, along with a separate speech from Jonathan Kearns, the central bank’s head of financial stability.
Looking abroad, key events will be highlighted by the US Federal Reserve’s policy meeting on Wednesday night.
Westpac says there is “clearly a justification for the FOMC to increase accommodation in December. It is much easier to pull back on stimulus than to make up for lost time”.
