Today on Stockhead, ASX uranium plays rushing to fill the supply hole, can Bevan Slattery’s stocks rise again, and who’s set to win in the housing boom?

But first…

To Markets…

ScoMo’s big climate show turned into the most awkward “You’re on mute mate” moment on the world stage after he spent the first minute of his opening address to the White House lip-syncing silence.

US markets went into reverse after Bloomberg broke news that the US President wants to nearly double the capital gains tax rate for wealthy Americans.

Gold fell, oil rose, and iron ore popped another per cent to hit a new high of $US187.

And crypto markets took a big dive, led by Bitcoin which shed around 6 per cent of its value to be down 18 per cent for the week. Doge and XRP both fell around 12 per cent, with only Ethereum holding steady to survive the carnage.

On the local, after a couple of days in the red, the ASX rebounded into positive territory yesterday.

The ASX 200 rose 0.83 per cent closing at 7,055 while the ASX Emerging Companies Index closed 0.22 per cent higher at 2,095.

Most sectors were positive with the exemption of energy which fell 0.74 per cent. Healthcare was again the best sector with a 1.74 per cent gain and tech gained 1.51 per cent.
