Here are the key ASX small cap winners and losers at lunch Friday November 9:
The ASX Small Ords was down 15.2 points or 0.6 per cent to 2,668.2 at 12.45pm AEST.
GOING UP
Australia’s newest lithium producer, Altura Mining (ASX:AJM), has secured a long-term supply deal with Chinese major Ganfeng Lithium.
The news sent shares up almost 40 per cent this morning to an intraday high of 25c just after market open.
Shares in Metallica Minerals (ASX:MLM) rose 29 per cent to an intraday high of 4c after it struck a deal to build a haul road connecting its Urquhart bauxite project to nearby barge-loading facilities.
“This, combined with the recently announced proposed merger with Toronto-listed Melior Resources, which is on track to bring its Goondicum ilmenite project into production this month, means the company will be in a position to generate cashflow from two financially robust projects in 2019 which will assist to build significant shareholder value,” MD Simon Slesarewick said.
Proteomics International Labs (ASX:PIQ) had good news today, saying the first commercial batches of its test for predicting the onset of diabetic kidney disease will be shipped later this month.
The company’s shares rose 23 per cent on the news to 34.5c, with nearly half a million dollars worth of shares trading hands.

Investors have responded well to news from PepinNini Lithium (ASX:PNN) that it has terminated its purchase option of an Argentinian mine, which will see it avoid further costs of up to US$775,000.
Shares in the company were boosted by 20 per cent, up to 0.6c.

GOING DOWN
Air traffic controller Adacel Technologies (ASX:ADA) has been hammered this morning after the loss of a US Federal Aviation Administration contract caused a profit downgrade.
The company told investors this morning that its profit for the first half of the 2019 financial year would be “65 to 70 per cent lower” than the $3.5m Adacel reported for the first half of the 2018 financial year.
Shares fell 46 per cent on the news, down to 82c.
