Last Orders: What you might have missed on the ASX today

Just what do gold, gas, finance and laser hair removal have to do with each other?

Precious little normally, but this time they are all bound together by virtue of being the industries covered by Benz Mining (gold), Chaucer Energy (gas), Liberty Financial Group and SILK Laser (laser hair removal), which are due to list on the ASX tomorrow.

The Small Ordinaries index of 100 small cap companies finished Monday up 9.4 points, or 0.31 per cent, to 3,090.5 behind the ASX200 which climbed 37.4 points, or 0.56 per cent.

Sectors were mixed, with energy, healthcare, materials and telecommunications falling.

Announcements

– Emerge Gaming (ASX:EM1) slipped 8 per cent to 9.1c despite the MIGGSTER social gaming platform achieving more than 50,000 paying subscribers since its launch in September. Nearly three quarters of these are for annual subscriptions.

– QX Resources (ASX:QXR) climbed 28.6 per cent to 1.8c after identifying a 600m diameter gold-in-soil anomaly at the Ibis prospect in Central Queensland. The company plans to carry out a costean and drilling program to test the anomaly and its structural trend.

– BCI Minerals (ASX:BCI) is up 5.4 per cent to 29.5c. The potash play secured a $450m loan facility from the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility, which accounts for a significant portion of the full Mardie salt and potash project development funding requirement. Subject to project approvals, tenure and funding being secured, a final investment decisions is expected by the second quarter of 2021.

– Golden Deeps’ (ASX:GED) shares were unchanged despite securing an exploration licence for its Tuckers Hill project in New South Wales. Reverse circulation/diamond drilling is planned from the base of Tuckers Hill, on the eastern side, with angled holes designed to drill under the historical workings that are primarily located on the eastern slope of hill.
