Last Orders: ASX finishes in the green, but there was a huge gap between the best & worst sectors

The ASX finished higher than yesterday but there was substantial gap between the best and worst sectors.

On one hand resources gained 3 per cent and financial stocks gained over 1 per cent. However, tech had a worse day and fell 1.6 per cent and health fell 1 per cent.

The ASX 200 index finished up 0.78 per cent, at 6,815 points while the ASX Small Ords finished up 0.8 per cent at 3,161.

The ASX Emerging Companies Index only gained 0.14 per cent and closed at 2,032.

Turning to individual stocks, finishing on top today was financial advisor WT (ASX:WTL) rising 156 per cent off the back of no news followed by new listee EZZ Life Science Holdings (ASX:EZZ), which gained 132 per cent.

EZZ is consequently the 2nd best ASX IPO of 2021 behind WA telco Pentanet (ASX:5GG).

WA nickel explorer Auroch Minerals (ASX:AOU) told shareholders it had hired a drilling contractor to help it with its projects in Western Australia. Seismic Drilling Services will assist the company for the next 12 months.

Speaking of medtechs, Orthocell’s (ASX:OCC) CelGro device has been included on the Australian Prosthesis list. This means dental practitioners will receive reimbursement from private insurers for using CelGro in dental bone and soft tissue repair procedures.

Enero Group (ASX:EGG) has sold out of its 75 per cent interest in Frank PR after holding it for 14 years. It will recognise a non-cash loss on the sale of approximately $9.5 million to $10 million before tax after allowing for cash consideration of $1.5 million.
