The American Cornhole League (ACL) is back, baby! On Saturday, sports-starved viewers in the US tuned into ESPN to watch ACL’s pro-invitational qualifier — ACL Cornhole Mania 2020.

‘Cornhole’ is a real game where competitors throw a bag filled with cornfeed into a hole.

It looks like this:

“The COVID-19 crisis obviously continues to disrupt everyone’s normal lives,” said Stacey Moore, commissioner and founder of the American Cornhole League.

“We hope that the resumption of competition will help in some small way by entertaining sports fans at home.”

Onto to international markets, which rose Friday — despite some appalling US employment figures — on optimism around improving US-China relations (again) and a tentative energy sector recovery.

The ASX 200 is also in positive territory this morning, up 1.19 per cent 5,455.4 points by 11:45pm EST.

TNT Mines (ASX:TIN) was up +200 per cent after announcing the acquisition of a historic, high-grade uranium-vanadium project in Utah called East Canyon.

The purchase could be both strategic and timely, as the US government moves to support domestic uranium production ahead of a broader positive trend for uranium pricing over the next 15 years.

New investor favourite Archer Materials (ASX:AXE) jumped another +30 per cent after a EU patent application over its quantum computing chip tech moved to the next stage.

The stock surged earlier this month after announcing a  non-monetary agreement with computing behemoth IBM.

Even once-powerful retailer Myer (ASX:MYR) is showing signs of life, up 17 per cent as the government unveils its plans to gradually reopen the Australian economy.

The stock is selling for 32.5c per share, still a far cry from its peak of +3.50 per share in 2009.
