ASX Small Cap Lunch Wrap: Who’s taking up space today?

The idea of living and working off-planet looks increasingly attractive as Earth circles the bowl.

Jeff Bezos-backed Blue Origin is currently advertising for a ‘Orbital Habitat Formulation Lead’ to develop LEO (Low Earth Orbit) space stations for millions of people.

That’s quite the remit.

Oh, and Tom Cruise is officially going into space to film that movie.

To markets…

US share markets fell on Wednesday, with meme stock Tesla dropping 10 per cent as ‘Battery Day’ fell short of expectations.

The gold futures price was also down by $US39.20 to $US1,868.40 an ounce. Has the rally ended? Probs not.

The ASX 200 dropped steeply on the open before clawing its way back to 5,867 points – still a ~57 point deficit — by midday EST.

Tao Commodities (ASX:TAO) is no longer on Stockhead’s list of sub $5m market cap battlers after inking an option to buy the ‘Titan’ titanium and zircon mineral sands project in the US.

Encounter Resources (ASX:ENR) – a so-called ‘prospect generator’ — has signed a lucrative joint venture deal with major miner BHP (ASX:BHP).

Tech company Nanoveu Ltd (ASX:NVU) has now booked >$250,000 of orders for its antiviral film layer.

And red-hot iCandy (ASX:ICI) is pushing to launch a game in China in partnership with Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) unit 9Games.
