Rise and Shine: What you need to know before the ASX opens
News
On Stockhead today, we run you through the finer details of quantum computing and its investment prospects, China is diving into the crypto space (but with a catch) and the Secret Broker gives his perspective on the similarities between Master Chefs and iron ore magnates.
But first:
The ABS will release July building approvals at 11:30am AEST, which are expected to continue their decline as part of the ongoing residential construction slowdown.
Also at 11:30am, the RBA will release monthly data on private sector credit, which earlier this year showed loans to housing investors fell to an all-time low.
Local stocks look set to open higher after US markets gained more than one per cent amid another round of optimism over US-China trade talks.
Later tonight, the US will get personal income and expenses data for July, which includes the PCE inflation print — the preferred inflation measure of the US Fed.
Core PCE inflation is expected to remain steady at 1.6 per cent, below the Fed’s 2-3 per cent target range.
The Eurozone economy will also get two key data updates with July unemployment numbers and the August CPI print.
The following companies are due out of trading halts in the next 48 hours.
