On Stockhead today, we give you the lowdown on the Chinese cannabis market, recap the stocks that made it onto analysts’ radars and give our readers a (simplified) tour of a heavy rare earths mine inspired by X-Men.

But first:

What got you talking yesterday

Over on the Stockhead Facebook group chat, regular contributor Mel Culley had some more thoughts on the nickel market in response to group member Scott North’s post:

“The (fickle) nickel market is full of aspirations. It’s not the amount of nickel companies produce but the grade of the ore pre- and post-refining. The battery makers want nickel purity at least to 99.99 per cent but many companies struggle to achieve that level.

Some of the class-one producers are: Norilsk, Ambatovy, Impala, Sherritt, Nikkelverk, Vale, and the Aussies BHP & Murrin Murrin. But all still have a way to go to achieve the perfect product. The technology of battery composition is moving very rapidly and will continue to do so, who knows what the flavour of the month will be next, drop me a PM if you do.”
