Lunchtime ASX small cap wrap: Who’s making history today?

Here are the key ASX small cap winners at lunch Monday March 4:
The ASX Small Ords was up 30.2 points or 1.1 per cent to 2,796.4 at 12pm AEST, another new high in its slow recovery since dropping to 2,371 points in December last year.
Threat Protect (ASX:TPS) shares rose 33 per cent to 24c this morning on news it had secured a $49 million funding package to complete the acquisition of a major Eastern states security alarm monitoring business, and refinance current debt facilities.
It will acquire Onwatch for $35 million.
Petratherm (ASX:PTR) shares were up 25 per cent to 4c after it announced it had secured a prospective ground position close to the operating Fosterville and Costerfield Gold Mines.
“The area contains several historic gold and other mineral prospects in areas of outcrop. Younger cover sediment however masks much of the prospective host rock and these regions have only been very lightly explored,” it said.
Shares in Authorised Investment Fund (ASX:AIY) rose 38 per cent to 10c this morning, though the company issued no real news before lunch, just a confusing set of releases.
The first was to announce that the extraordinary general meeting it held on February 8 will have to be re-held, because the ASX told the company it did not satisfy formal requirements for EGMs.
The second was a correction of a late Friday announcement — the real news behind the 38pc rise — that it had made a $7 million offer for Encounter Resources (ASX:ENR). AIY said on Friday that Encounter had mines in Casterton, Western Australia, before it realised it meant to say Western Victoria.
The company then requested a pause in trading just before lunch pending a further announcement.
ENR shares rose 10 per cent.

Celsius Resources (ASX:CLA) was the day’s biggest loser, shedding more than two-thirds of its value on announcing the cobalt price was too weak for it to continue evaluating its cobalt project in Namibia.
“In light of this and given the current and near term forecast pricing for cobalt, the company has decided it is in the best interests of shareholders to significantly slow work on the evaluation of the Opuwo Project, until such time as the cobalt price improves markedly from current levels,” it said.
Longtable Group (ASX:LON) shares also fell, to an all-time low of 22c, but that was just due to a discounted capital raise. This morning it announced it had acquired the rest of Maggie Beer Products.
