Diamond miner Lucapa has banked a further $4 million from the sale of alluvial diamonds from its Lulo mine in Angola.
However, the pricey package did not include the recently discovered 46-carat pink diamond or other large “special” diamonds recovered from the new Mining Block 4.
The parcel of 1632 carats fetched an average price per carat of $US1838 ($2448).
Lucapa is trying to pinpoint the primary hard-rock source or sources of the “exceptional size and quality” alluvial diamonds being recovered from Lulo.
Shares gained nearly 2 per cent to trade at 28.5c on Friday morning.
