V-Con is Stockhead’s investing focused video conference series, bringing you expert insights, panel discussions and presentations from leading analysts, listed small caps and industry players.

This latest video conference focuses on crypto.

The fourth quarter could be the biggest yet of a big year for cryptocurrencies.

Prices are rebounding after a four-month lull, with talk that an ETF (exchange-traded fund) approval in the United States could be an extremely bullish catalyst for Bitcoin. Australian regulators are also mulling the idea.

Australia’s biggest fintech, Afterpay (ASX:APT), is in the midst of getting acquired by a company that makes most of its revenue from Bitcoin trading, while rival Zip (ASX:Z1P) has declared that crypto is a “new financial system that’s emerging”.

El Salvador recently made it legal tender.

Celebrities like Tom Brady, Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, MC Hammer, Elon Musk, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather and Ashton Kutcher have been talking or tweeting about crypto and NFTs, and one in 10 Australian adults now have an account with Coinspot, the Aussie crypto exchange whose website is more popular than NAB and Westpac’s.

Ethereum could move to proof-of-stake as soon as December, making the energy-intensive process of mining obsolete and increasing its appeal to institutional investors. But competitors like Avalanche, Solana and Algorand are gaining ground and winning adoption in a battle for crypto supremacy.

There’s even been talk of central banks issuing their own digital currencies as they try to stay relevant as the crypto-revolution takes hold.

This V-con will offer advice on making sense of crypto, where it’s going and how things might play out. You don’t want to miss this.
