Long Shortz with West Wits Mining: $17.5m raise fast-tracks Qala Shallows to production
Tylah Tully chats with West Wits Mining (ASX:WWI) chair Michael Quinert about the company’s $17.5 million capital raise and what it means for the path to production.
Quinert highlights the strong market demand that saw the raise completed quickly, at nearly double the price of the previous round and without options, signaling growing investor confidence in the Qala Shallows project.
For the first time, Australian funds have joined the register alongside continued support from Asia and long-term backers, marking a pivotal moment in West Wits’ growth.
West Wits is now on track to begin ore extraction by the end of October and build a stockpile ahead of first gold production.
While officially targeting the first half of 2026, Quinert suggests gold pouring could come as early as March or April next year, moving the company from developer to producer far faster than expected.
