The Wanamaker target within Strickland’s Millrose project in WA remains an exciting target with drilling continuing to return high-grade gold intersections.

The latest assays from ongoing drilling returned two further oxide hits of 5m grading 14.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from a down-hole depth of 67m (MRRC347) and 5m at 6.6g/t gold from 83m (MRRC339).

MRRC347 is located 200m south of the recent 7m at 22.2g/t gold hit which had confirmed Wanamaker’s status as a new high-grade lode.

Strickland Metals (ASX:STK) noted that the results build on initial primary gold discovery holes at Wanamaker, which is shaping up into an exciting high-grade discovery about 250m north of the historical Millrose resource of 346,000oz of gold.

It added that the oxide mineralisation footprint now links Millrose and Wanamaker for an overall strike of about 3.2km while further assays are pending from drilling targeting additional oxide gold to the north.

Chief executive officer Andrew Bray said the results contribute to the “incredibly exciting story continuing to unfold at Wanamaker”.

“A number of additional assays are pending from Wanamaker, targeting both oxide and primary mineralisation,” he added.

“Two further step out holes to the north of MRRC329, designed to test for extensions to the bonanza gold mineralisation, have been drilled with results expected in the coming weeks.

“Additionally, seven diamond tails have been completed which were designed to test for plunge extensions to the previously intersected fresh rock mineralisation.”

Upcoming work

Drilling is ongoing at the Millrose project and continues to demonstrate the very large scale of the broader gold system.

Results from the drilling will feed into an upcoming resource update planned for the first quarter of 2023.
