• TG Metals reports more lithium intersections such as 20m @ 1.38% Li2O
  • Results add to the thick, high grade lithium mineralisation at Burmeister
  • Planning underway for further infill and extensional drilling

Special Report: Recently completed summer drilling has delivered more high-grade lithium hits which highlight the prospectivity of TG Metals’ Burmeister prospect in WA’s Lake Johnston area.

Drilling carried out in 2023 had returned multiple high-grade intersections with notable results such as 2m @ 2.18% Li2O from 215.6m, within a broader intersection of 17.1m @ 1.66% Li2O from 203.7m, and 4m @ 1.2% Li2O from 201m.

The results confirmed Burmeister – part of TG Metals’ (ASX:TG6) Lake Johnston project – is a significant lithium-bearing spodumene discovery, leading other companies to scramble for ground in the region.

More recently, its 2024 drill program has delivered more high-grade lithium intersections such as 23.5m @ 1.52% Li2O that just served to support the prospectivity of Burmeister.

Drilling adds more high-grade lithium hits

TG6 has now completed the current program of 2,848m of reverse circulation drilling and 821m of diamond drilling.

Final assays from the RC drilling, which intersected multiple mineralised pegmatites, confirm continued intersections of spodumene bearing pegmatites with high Li2O grades and widths up to 20m.

Notably assays are:

  • 20m @ 38% Li2O from 120m;
  • 20m @ 1.13% Li2O from 129m; and
  • 5m @ 1.61% Li2O from 56m, 2m @ 0.97% Li2O from 144m and 2m @ 2.17% Li2O from 167m.

“These RC drilling results continue to add thick, high grade lithium mineralisation to the previously reported diamond drill results at Burmeister,” TG6 chief executive David Selfe said.

“It is pleasing that this program has confirmed the continuity of these pegmatites up dip and the mineralisation remains open.

“The next phase drilling at Burmeister is to infill to a closer spaced pattern as we progress to defining a maiden resource, which will demonstrate the scale and quality of the Burmeister spodumene pegmatites.

“In the meantime, we are ensuring all the approvals are completed at several other high priority drill targets both at Jaegermeister and further south along the greenstone belt at Tay. We feel there is a real opportunity to make further discoveries as we progressively test the 50km of greenstone belt within our project area.”

Next steps

Planning is now under way for further infill and extension drilling at Burmeister.

TG6 also expects to receive infill soil geochemistry results for the Jaegermeister prospect imminently.
