Techgen Metals has launched a 54kmaeromagnetic survey over its prospective Station Creek project in the Ashburton basin.

A Heliborne VTEM-Max survey has begun and will take four to five days to be completed, covering the entire exploration tenure at the Pilbara copper project.

It is the first survey of its kind at Station Creek, which is located roughly 70km south-west of Paraburdoo, but already there are strong signs of copper endowment at the early stage exploration play.

Underpinning that confidence are historic rock chips sampled by Techgen before its listing in April this year, with XRD analysis showing one rock sample returned a reading of 54.7% copper and 257g/t silver.

That provides a strong indication of copper sulphide and copper arsenate minerals at surface.

Other standout samples include a reading from a nearby sample of 30.20% copper and another of 17.35% copper.

Eye in the sky

The VTEM-Max survey is being completed by UTS Geophysics, with data to be analysed by Russell Mortimer from Southern Geoscience Consultants.

Run over 300 line kilometres at a spacing of 200m between flight lines, it will be Techgen’s eye in the sky.

The aim is to build a picture of what the mineralisation at Station Creek looks like beneath the surface.

Techgen attributes its interest in Station Creek to the presence of major fault structures, high grade copper rock chips and an overall lack of modern exploration like this heliborne survey.

It hopes to use the survey to uncover sulphide mineralisation at depth.

A busy start

Since listing Techgen has had a busy couple of months, spreading its feelers across seven gold and copper exploration projects in WA’s Goldfields, Mid West and Pilbara regions.

A similar survey at the Blue Rock Valley project, also in the Ashburton basin, delivered three strong conductors.

Techgen has also recently completed RC drilling at its El Donna and Ida Valley Gold projects in the Goldfields.
