Special Report: Suvo Strategic Minerals is on track to upgrade resources at its White Knight project in Western Australia with every hole in the drilling program intersecting kaolin.

The 61-hole program totalling 1,550m was aimed at upgrading the existing inferred resource of 31.5 million tonnes to the higher confidence indicated and/or measured categories that will support mine planning.

Samples have been delivered to the laboratory with assay results and resource estimate upgrades expected before the end of the calendar year.

Suvo Strategic Minerals (ASX:SUV) non-executive director Dr Ian Wilson says the drilling campaign has vindicated the company’s decision to run the stepped out program to the south as every hole drilled on the boundary intersected between 10m and 20m of ultrabright white kaolinised granite.

This indicates the resource is open to the south.

“As a result, the company will mobilise a drill rig to return within the month to further step out the area,” he added.

Further detailed metallurgical test work will be completed in the UK on bulk sample matrix collected from the drilling program while an updated end user analysis including detailed target markets and potential off-take pricing will follow the release of the measured and indicated resource.

White Knight kaolin

White Knight covers more than 40,000ha in the Yilgarn Craton on cleared farming land, which could simplify environmental approvals required for mining.

It also offers the company with multiple export options including the Fremantle container port, Kwinana bulk terminal, Geraldton bulk terminal and Bunbury Port, all of which are accessible via an underutilised rail and road network.

Suvo recently negotiated a mining access agreement with the private landowner and occupier of the tenement.

Kaolin is a feedstock for high purity alumina (HPA), a component of lithium-ion batteries and LED lights. It also has a wide range of other industrial uses, like paper and paperboard, fiberglass, ceramics and paint.
